My husband and I have been part of this foundation for 2yrs now. As we are parents of 2 very beautiful girls, we feel very passionate about helping Pansophia to build schools for the less fortunate kids in Indonesia. Pansophia is a non- profit organization to we hope to bring back jobs to the parents of the kids and helping them be part of the schools by giving them jobs in the schools. We feel that its is truly important for the parents to understand the importance of putting their kids in schools to help stop the chain of poverty.

Finally another year come for my new collections wedding show,the wedding show are quite different with other wedding show that i've been held before,because its opened for everybody and not for invited guests only.

All of the brides to be and everyone that came to the show are really enjoy the food, the musics,and the most important is they really like my new wedding collections and the new wedding packages.

Even tough there are some delays happened during the shows that makes me feel quite disappointed but i am really happy with the end results,all the hard work is paid off.

Summer Weddings

While it may be a tad too late to plan a wedding for this summer, you can start planning ahead for next year - or if you live in the tropics like we do, you can plan a beach wedding any time of the year. Of course, now that you have that in mind, there are some nitty gritties you need to figure out.

My husband-to-be and I are beach bums, so we decided to have a beach wedding. Where do we go from here?
Start identifying the various locations that are by the beach that also have backup areas in case of bad weather.

Ask yourself if you would like an overseas island beach wedding and if so which continent in the world would you like to get married, and always make sure to check if the wedding date you want to get married in is not during the wet season or else your wedding will be rained in.

Make sure there are also good sources of contacts for various services such as flowers, entertainment, catering etc... Available in the country as planning an overseas wedding can be really stressful. Maybe hiring a good wedding planner would be a good way to go but do make sure you do your research on their background and experience as well.

I'm having a beach wedding and I don't want to be overly casual. What should I think about when I want to get my dress made? beach weddings are usually on sand therefore you want a dress that you can easily move around in and it can also be very windy therefore a shorter veil has to be considered or rather a no veil would be better for beach weddings. A light and elegant dress in chiffon would be a lovely choice as chiffon has a lot of fluidity and when it catches the wind it will be really beautiful.

What footwear should I wear? walking on sand with your stilettos can be a difficult feat therefore I would recommend flats or flip flops with crystals on them to give them a little bit of bling.

What are some things I should consider when it comes to beach weddings that usually slip people's minds? Beach weddings can be tricky in terms of the weather as they are usually held outdoors the weather can be very unpredictable check the weather 2 days before the wedding and if chances of a thunderstorm in high then make contingency plans to move the wedding indoors.
direction of the sun- weddings outdoor are hot and can be very glaring, make sure during your wedding rehearsal check on which direction the sun if shining during the time of your wedding ceremony as you do not want to be facing the sun while exchanging your vows , all your photos will end up with your eyes closed.

Pack wet wipes- as mentioned before it can be really hot wet wipes can cool you and your groom down. Remember sun lotion- make sure you put on some sun lotion or else you would end up sun burnt and that goes for your bridal party.

For hair dos- try not to let your hair down for outdoor/beach weddings, it can be windy and you do not want your hair flying everywhere during your vows and you can end up with a flat fly away hair do and it will not be very attractive.

Also wear water proof makeup- as beach weddings are hot you will sweat and water proof makeup will not allow your makeup to “melt” away and leave you with ugly streaks of makeup on your face.

What do I tell my guests to wear? I always love hues of lights blue or all white for beach wedding or sand color can be really nice to have everyone where one color tone, its great for photos. Attire should be light and breezy or it can say “ Garden Chic” or “beach chic” or “linens and sun dresses” never use the word “casual” some friends may end up in flip flops and shorts. Ladies should come in short sun dresses and hats and the men should come in a smart shirt and long slacks” as it is hot for your guests as much as it is for you, you should not tell your guests to come in “formal or black tie” as they will be roasting in the sun and they will not enjoy your wedding.

My Friday started innocently... another Friday at work, all buzzing around, up to my retinas with work, until my dearest friend, Denise Keller, who was wearing a Renee L. Collections gown to host Universal Studios Grand Opening that night told me that Paula Abdul came up to Denise and told her she loved My Gown!!! I was thrilled!

I didn't think much of it until Saturday, when Denise told me that she had arranged for Paula herself to drop by my boutique! I was pretty sure I was going to pass out when I heard it!

And in case you were wondering, yes, she did come down! She was lovely, and we have designed some fabulous gowns and dresses for her! I can't wait to hit Hollywood to fit her!

How to Pose Like a Pro!

Not all of us are made as lithe and svelte as Size 0 models, and not all of us are 6-ft tall. What we can do, however, is pose for photos like we are! When you've gone to as many events as I have, you tend to pick up tips and tricks on how to look good in front of the camera, and I thought I'd share them with you!

I usually tilt body to a slight angle from the camera to help elongate my legs and body. My face is also turned more to the side (we know which side is our Hollywood side that we look best and for its my left side.)
Slightly lower your head or rather a slight chin down and my eyes will open bigger when my chin is lowered.
Give a gentle smile only cause with a big smile, wrinkles may show up, and face looks broader.
Never stand under a spotlight for a photo as they cast shadows on your face making you look older as well.
Always relax one arm to the side of your body and the under arm to be placed at your waist or hip area, push your arms back when you are in that position for a slimmer arm effect.
If you are feeling bloated that day, place your handbag infront of your body to distract the attention from your tummy.

Despite my crazy schedule, one of the things I make sure I get enough of is time with my beloved family. And one of the best things about having daughters is that they're more than thrilled to play dress up with Mummy and hit a fashion show with her.

My lil' fashionista, Calista, and I shook up the scene a tad at the Emanuel Ungaro show at Audi Fashion Festival a few days ago, and boy, was she a hit with the press! In case you were wondering who she was wearing, it's Barbie!

Following the recent royal wedding, which, by now, we've all heard enough of, I thought I'd wax lyrical about some of my favourite wedding gowns of celebrities. We've seen enough tinseltown train wrecks, but sometimes, they clean up just right for their big day.

I loved the corseted look with the lace details cause its simply romantic and I am a huge fan of lace therefore I was extremely attracted to that gown.

Gwen Stefani

I absolutely loved it with the touch of pink to kick it up a notch, I loved how the neckline draped on her, it was not perfect and it looked “raw” I absolutely love her veil cause again it has lace on it.

Donald Trump’s latest wife (LOL!) Melania
I love the luxurious use of silk duchess satin and the extreme mermaid cut on the gown as well as the details on the bottom of the gown, it does not have lace nor beads but the pleats and the sheen on the gown is beautiful.

I really wished she did not do her hair the way she did and had the veil over power her gown.

Ivana Trump

Vera Wang out did herself for Ivaka Trump’s gown, it was so romantic and the french chantily lace was so beautiful, I am usually not a Vera Wang fan but this piece I have to say is Divine and it draped on her so beautifully.

The bodice is definitely inspired by Grace kelly’s wedding gown and once again it has lace and I am huge fan of lace and the bottom is like a swan and its really girly with an edgy cut to the tulle bottom making it really interesting rather than ballerina and it was a clever cut that is “convertible” when you remove the skirt it has a different silhouette to it.

I go to balls and society events on a regular basis, and of course, you need to get all dressed up for these events. Here are the recent balls I've been to, and what I've been wearing:

Canadian Maple Leaf Ball Here's me and my friend Ann Wade who wore my design at the recent Maple leaf ball 2011. Its a black silk satin toga gown with handmade jewels broches she can use on another outfit as well as a fully beaded crystal belt.
I'm also wearing my own work in a fully beaded french lace gown. And the pattern on the lace are made of large english roses.

Monumental Ball Below is a photo of me with my friends Lady Kyra and Grace Yeh. I'm wearing a silk organza shirt and a duchess satin mermaid cut skirt all by Renee L. Collections. I spotted a Mod look for my hair by Cindy and makeup by Amy Chow.

Best dressed at ICON mag. Sapphire Ball 2010

It was my privilege to dress 3 lovely society ladies at the recent ICON ball held at Mandarin Hotel. It was a luxurious evening of fine dining and ladies dressed in the best gowns, donned with precious jewelry. My regular client Grace Yeh came to me to design a gown to match her Chopard necklace. The necklace is so beautiful but the color was a unique turquoise blue and not many fabric comes in that shade. I had a tough time but the result was rewarding. The gown came out magical.

Grace Chng another lovely lady approached me to design something elegant to match her earrings and it was my first time designing for her. I was a little nervous cause I have not sensed her style. With God's grace, we made an elegant greek goddess influence gown.

Both Graces won Best dressed that evening and it was such an honor for me to have 2 out of the 10 best dressed voted that night to be my gowns.

Belinda Chua of Flower Boutique wore my design too and she looked absolutely elegant in a sapphire blue. It was an origami influence gown beaded with crystals on a 1 sided cap sleeve. She loved it and it fitted her like a glove.

Thank you lovely ladies for wearing my gowns and making me so proud. It was not the work of me but from the Lord above.

Our Pleasure to announce my creation of a chic Cheongsam inspired by the traditional Sari Fabric for Singapore Tourism Board's Spring campaign for Uniquely Singapore. I designed a beautifully crafted cheongsam with cap sleeves in duchess satin and I used an elegant 2 tone sari fabric I found in the wee hours one night at Little India.

It was an interesting evening!

The cheongsam represents the multi ethnic culture we have in Singapore, the silhouette represents the Chinese, the Sari fabric for the Indians and the buttons on the dress represents the Nonyas and the Malays. The modern western chic to the gown represents the Eurasians. I had a lot of making the dress but the process getting there was quite a trip. Nonetheless it was a pleasure.

It was such a pleasure for me to design this exquisite wedding gown for my friend Victoria. She was so delightful to have around the shop whenever we have a fitting. Her mom is also a delight. For her gown we used a very exclusive collection of duchess satin flown in from Spain and French chantily and crystals hand beaded all over her bodice and the train of her gown. I specially design a beautiful Ave maria Veil of Cathedral length for her. We also had the privilege to design a crystal hair comb to accompany the beautiful veil.

Grace also ordered a luscious gold Silk Taffeta gown that she wore for the Yellow Ribbon Ball. Hi, I'm back! Busy from planning our next big event in September. For all of you that has no idea that promoting boxing is my husband John Leung's passion. One of the pioneers in Singapore to promote White collar boxing. With my event company we have thrown several boxing events in Singapore, "Black tie fight night I" (semi pro fights), "Showdown in Singapore" (World boxing title fight), and a couple of White Collar fights held over the past years.

After a year an half break we are excited to announce our event "SHOWDOWN Inside the Ropes" held on the 18th Sept at Shangri La Hotel, Island ballroom. That night you will witness an evening of good food, free flow of alcohol and exciting, explosive Kickboxing and Boxing bouts. Our white collar Boxer and Kickboxers will go through intensive 10 weeks of intensive training sessions, getting their body and mind ready for the SHOWDOWN. All their time and efforts to be put to the test and not forgetting for the love of the charity we have adopted.

I designed a beautiful french corded lace gown for her wedding ceremony held at Sentosa resort & spa's Ginger Terrace, A french chantily lace from Valentino cheongsam with hand beaded lace and a stunning Emerald green Goddess evening gown with beading in the empire line. The dinner party was exquisite the theme we designed for Val and Bjoern was 'water & light' simple and elegant.

We proposed a Valentino lace, cheongsam influence gown for her. She is such fun to have as a client, bubbly, constant positive energy and one that leaves it all to the experts to decide for her. She had an intimate (and we mean intimate wedding only 6 of them at the solemnization) but beautiful wedding at Flutes and after with more friends at Breeze.

Cheongsams

My other love besides my children and my hubby is designing Cheongsams! Cheongsams are such feminine, elegant, chinese traditional gowns. I own more than 10 cheongsams myself and I absolutely love each and every unique piece I design for myself. In my collection I love using imported European designer laces for each and every design I make for my clients, every cheongsam is unique and are like art pieces for me. Sometimes, I find myself having a hard time parting with my finish pieces cause every piece is so close to my heart.

Here is a photo from my little cheongsam show in Royal China, Raffles Hotel's relaunch of their new look. Royal China is owned by my lovely aunt and uncle and needless to say the food is immaculate, service is flawless and the environment is just yummy! I highly recommend the char siew puffs (I know the secret to why the pastry just melts in your mouth!), the lobster noodles and their dim sum. Describe by my fussiest food critic friends "Royal China's Dim Sum is the "cleaniest" ever tasted.

My Cousin Sabrina's wedding

Here is my cousin Sabrina's wedding which I had the pleasure of designing her wedding gown, evening gown and cheongsam. She loved lovely in all my pieces and am also very honored to be invited to be her Matron of Honor. My little darling daughter Calista was her flowergirl and she stole the limelight in her lovely little dress I designed for her. Besides being her designer, matron of honor, my team and myself had the pleasure of planning her wedding themed "Dream a little Dream" and the colors of soft blue and canary yellow.

I love this Bride and Groom Valerie and Bjoern. They are such a warm couple with a big heart. Over the years of planning a wedding of 12 years now, I have never seen a couple so lovely and in love with each other what a refreshing sight for us and the family to witness their wedding. It was my great pleasure to design her gowns and also plan their wedding at Sentosa Spa & resort.
